7. How to apply IPO in Nepal with the help of meroshare?

We need 3 things to apply in an IPO in Nepal:

1. Have a Demat account.
2. Have a Meroshare account.
3. Have a CRN Number.
4. Money in Bank account(Dont worry we will start with only 1000 rupees)

If we have all the above mentioned things then we can apply for IPO. The first step is to login into your Meroshare account. To do that simply go to meroshare.cdsc.com.np.

After that select your Depository participants(i.e from where we opened our demat account)
Username and password should have been provided to us in our email when our meroshare account was created.
Now login into the meroshare account and we will have an interface as shown in the picture below.

Now click in My ASBA section. In the current issue section we will see various investing opportunities like IPO, Right Shares, FPO. But for now we can apply in IPO only. To see the details of the IPO that we are about to apply click on the company name and we will see all the details regarding the company which is issuing IPO. To apply  click in APPLY FOR ISSUE option and we will see an interface like this

Click on the Apply button and we will see an application form like this

Fill in all the details. I suggest that to start with just apply for shares of  1000 rupees only.(i.e 10 shares of 100 rupees or 100 shares of 10 rupees in case of Mutual Funds) Once we fill all the details and enter our CRN number that we got from bank it will ask for OTP which will be shown in screen itself

Enter the OTP/confirmation code and click on Apply and your application will be successfully completed. But always make sure that you have sufficient fund in your Bank account while applying for IPO. Once you have applied for IPO, we can see the status of our application by clicking on Application Report. To make sure that our application is successful check the report,

Status Unverified means that the application is being processed at Bank and it will be verified shortly. It will take around 2-3 days to get verification complete. We can check again in 2-3 days and we should see something like this

If in the Status it says Rejected, it could be because of insufficient balance in your account. If that is not the reason then contact your Bank and ask for the necessary details. And in this way we have successfully applied for an IPO and now its time to wait for the IPO result.

In the next article I will talk about how long it will take to  get shares in our demat account  and how long after can we sell those shares and the process to sell those shares.

Thanks for reading
